Software Sub-Team Member — ITU AUV Team
Member of the software sub-team of a student team that designs, builds and operates an autonomous underwater vehicle for international robotics competitions. The vehicle must complete its tasks entirely without operator input.
Responsibilities and contributions
- Developed a synthetic dataset generator producing photorealistic, automatically annotated training data for pose estimation and segmentation.
- Worked on computer vision pipelines for detecting competition targets in degraded underwater imagery.
- Integrated perception output with the ROS-based navigation stack and validated behaviour in simulation before pool testing.
- Coordinated with the mechanical and electrical sub-teams on sensor mounting, thruster interfaces and system-level integration.
